a little sunny inspration!
27.5lb Weight Loss
14.5cm belly button loss
(sorry about pic quality!)
My weight loss story started after having my second child in 2005, I found it hard to lose the weight with 2 children. Instead of throwing food away which the children had left on their plates I would eat it as not to waste food.
My weight impacted on my self-confidence and self-esteem, which was very low. I never really did much with my children when they were smaller, like going to the park playing ball or taking them swimming as I worried about what people would say about me. I know to some people I probably was not that big but I felt big and un-comfy.
I have tried different weight loss programmes with no weight loss achieved sometimes weight gain.
In April 2007 I was diagnosed with Depression, I feel that my weight problem contributed towards this. I joined Slimming World again in January 2014. In October 2014 my Depression was at a very low point and I was referred for counselling, after a couple of weeks my councillor advised that I stopped Slimming World as it was not helping me and I needed to get myself into a place that I was happy with before trying to deal with my weight.
I have been a member of Total Fitness since February 2014 and had not really used the Gym as I didn’t feel confident enough to go. In December 2014 I saw the Facebook advert for Total Loser, as this was different to what I had done in the past and I felt like I was in the right mind-set to sign up and give it my very best shot.
February came around so fast after signing up, I didn’t know what I had signed myself up for or what to expect, it was quite scary for me due to my low self-esteem and confidence issues. When I turned up I was so pleased that there were people there in the same boat as me.
The Pro-fit trainers put me at ease when they explained the programme.
I joined Total Loser to get healthy and change my lifestyle.
I followed the Kickstart Detox Plan as I needed something that showed me what I could and couldn’t eat.
Since joining, my confidence has improved loads and my self-esteem is coming back, I put this down to me losing the weight and dropping dress sizes.
I now feel confident to go out in a pair skinny jeans or a dress and not worry about what people think of me.
I look forward to doing fun things with my family.
I now look forward to going to the Gym and go 4 times a week and I have signed up to a Pro-fit trainer.(you can too for a 2 week trial HERE)
At my last check up the Doctor advised me that I can start to come off my tablets in May.
I feel my confidence has improved that much that I have set my next challenge to build up my running fitness and to do the Manchester 10K next year.
When I started my journey 12 weeks ago I never once thought I would be able to achieve what I have and I definitely did not think I would be nominated to go through to the final at Total Loser.
I have improved my fitness levels massively. I have recently started a new role in work which I would never have had the confidence to do before.
I now believe that if I can achieve what I have done in the last 12 weeks I can achieve anything I put my mind to going forward.
This is all thanks to the support of Total Loser contestants, and Team Pro-Fit at Bolton.
