My name is Paul Lynch and I’m a Total Loser and proud of it!

To tell my story I want to firstly go back and look at the person I used to be.

I will be brutally honest because if I can’t be honest with myself then who will I be kidding. I was a 43 year old lazy slob who liked nothing more than sitting on the sofa watching TV or playing Xbox and eating rubbish.

I didn’t just become the overweight overnight, it was a long process that took 25 years, drinking way too much, eating all the wrong foods, MacDonald’s, KFC, Crisps, Chocolate and on top of that doing zero exercise, in fact my idea of exercise was walking to the fridge to get another beer.

I don’t know how many times I thought about diets and exercise but did nothing (I don’t have enough fingers and toes to count with) and on the few occasions I actually did something I would see weight loss for a week or two, but quickly slip back to old eating habits and put it all back on usually with a little more.

Then I saw Total Loser.

When I started the process I was 17st 13lbs, I got out of breath walking up stairs, in fact even walking and talking was getting difficult. What attracted me to Total Loser was the organisation and support from every one of the PT’s and just as importantly from everyone else in the program.

The nutrition plan was a real eye opener, everything I thought I knew about healthy eating was completely wrong, but I jumped right into the 4 week detox, I’ve never been one for half measures or half portions for that matter. I suffered a few headaches and lethargy along the way but now I feel so much better. The weight initially came flying off and after 3 weeks I’d lost an amazing 1½ stone. Since then it has been a more steady and probably more manageable 2-3 lbs per week (after 10 weeks I’ve lost 2 ½ Stone).

I joined one of the Pro-Fit group training sessions with Nathan at the Whitefield gym, 3 times per week, I’m usually the only guy but I’ve never minded being surrounded by girls J. I remember the 1st session, really struggling to even do some shuttle runs, now don’t get me wrong I’m still not what I would call fit but I can now complete all the sessions, no more being out of breath when I walk and talk and I can walk up stairs without nearly dying at the top. It’s amazing the change I’ve gone through over the past 2-3 months. My target is to get down to 14 stone so still have a way to go, but for the first time ever I know I will get there.

Finally I would like to thank every single one of the PT’s and also all the other Total Losers you have all helped me to change my life.
