Stuck in the middle with you

Today is the mid-point of the year!  Wow, half of 2019 gone! In fact, it’s only another 6 months until you hit and new decade! The 2020’s. And you will be there with YOU...but which 'you'?

 

Any plans for the 2020’s?? not a bad time to think about it…half way through the current year is always a good time to reflect on what you have been doing so far, and also to think about your actions now that will take you in to the next decade.

 

If the next decade conversation makes you feel a little overwhelmed, or too big/too far away to think about big goals, then just chunk it down into smaller steps.  They key is though…you have to be able to at least SEE (in your mind’s eye) some of the things you want in the future. 

 

If you cannot see it, you probably won't achieve it.  It doesn’t have to be perfect... if being a different clothes size is a goal you have be able to visualise what that is…if it’s a fitness goal, you have to be able to see YOU doing it.  If it’s a work, lifestyle, travel, relationship or Life goal... you have to be able to see some kind of picture of it…the clearer the better.

 

So, let’s ask yourself some questions and start with…err…where you are…

Are you where you wanted to be?

How far have you come in the last 6 months?

Are you feeling better, looking better…?

Are you more confident?

Do you feel stronger, fitter, have more energy?

Are you…HAPPIER with YOU...?

If so, great…your year is on track to be a great year. Keep it up.

If not, why not?

 

You see, if you look at the last 6 months and at any time thought…’hmmm I must do something…I’ll get ‘on it’…. I’ll start with a trainer…I’ll get some help…etc

 

BUT…the voices came…and therefore the excuses and justifications…‘when I’ve got time to fit it in…when I have enough money…when I’m a bit fitter…when I’m more confident...it won’t work for me, I’m different blah blah…’then you may not be on track.

 

You see, if you want to know what the future holds…do this:

 

Take a look at the last 6 months (or longer if you are looking a bit further) and look at what you did/didn’t achieve and are doing/not doing.

 

Now if you stay where you are, doing what you have always done…Guess What… That is exactly what you will get in the NEXT 6 MONTHS.

 

Now, if you have smashed it, given everything, feel different, changed something, worked on process and behaviours and moved forward (no matter how far or how small) from where you were...

 

Great

 

With some simple tweaks and a couple of extra things thrown in for a spice up, as long as you keep the consistency you will continue to move forward into your new decade.

 

So, be honest, is that really you?

 

If not, then something has to change because… If you do what you always did……you’ll get what you always got!

 

The good news is…there is still time.

 

There is still time to make 2019 a great year.

 

There is still time to…Lose Weight, Get fit, Feel confident in your clothes…Lose 2 clothes sizes, run you best 5k time, build muscle, become stronger (mind and body), make lifestyle changes, change a couple of behaviours, feel happy, motivated and proud of yourself.

 

You can have all that, as long as you are willing to do something & prepared to change something.

 

If you want to get to the end of the year feeling proud of all of those things…...when do you think now would be a good time to change a habit or two?!

 

It’s a simple choice that you can make.
